Access design that preserves coronal tooth structure while allowing canal identification. Recognition of
anatomy and clinical situations associated with perforation risk.
3. Canal location and challenging anatomy
Systematic canal identification, including an MB2-location section and strategies for challenging canal
anatomy.
4. Initial instrumentation and glide path
Canal scouting and negotiation; progression to working length; glide path formation. Approaches to
moderately calcified canals and moderate ledges.
Hands-on workshop
Access preparation, canal location, scouting and glide path formation on suitable teeth. Practice
involving MB2 canals, calcifications or ledges depends on the specimens available.

Day 2 | Cleaning, Shaping, Obturation & Final Seal
Sunday, November 22, 2026
Continue from the established glide path through instrumentation, disinfection, obturation and the
coronal seal.
1. Rotary and reciprocating instrumentation
Comparison of conventional rotary and reciprocating systems; traditional and heat-treated NiTi
metallurgy; continuous and variable tapers. Clinical application of ProTaper Gold and WaveOne Gold.
2. Predictable cleaning and shaping
A repeatable instrumentation sequence, with attention to instrument separation risk and the
relationship between instrumentation and root fracture.
3. Irrigation and disinfection
Integration of irrigation and disinfection into the cleaning and shaping workflow.
4. Three-dimensional obturation
Obturation of the prepared root canal system using gutta-percha and modern bioceramic sealers.
5. Coronal seal and post-endodontic restoration
Sealing the canals, pulpal floor and access cavity; the relationship between timely restoration and
endodontic outcomes.
Hands-on workshops
Rotary and reciprocating instrumentation, irrigation and obturation. The practical sequence carries
the prepared teeth through shaping and obturation, supported by instructor guidance.

Day 1 | Access, Canal Location & Initial Instrumentation
By completion of Day 1, participants should be able to:
01. Plan effective anesthesia
Identify teeth that may be difficult to anesthetize and explain appropriate, safe anesthetic planning
before endodontic treatment.
02. Troubleshoot inadequate anesthesia
Explain when and how accessory and intra-treatment techniques can support treatment when primary
anesthesia is insufficient.
03. Improve isolation
Apply rubber dam isolation principles, including single-tooth isolation, to support access preparation and
canal location.
04. Prepare conservative access
Describe and practice access preparation that permits canal identification while conserving coronal
tooth structure.
05. Locate canals and recognize perforation risk
Use a systematic approach to challenging anatomy, including MB2 location, and identify situations
associated with a high risk of perforation.
06. Establish working length and a glide path
Practice canal scouting, negotiation toward working length and glide path formation in easy and
moderately difficult canals.
07. Address calcifications and ledges
Describe approaches to moderate calcifications and ledges, with practical application where suitable
